Providing detailed design and a high-quality finish to an extension project in a leafy suburb of Sheffield
Having already received planning permission to build an extension backing onto Ecclesall Woods in southwest Sheffield, these clients were seeking detailed interior designs alongside technical drawings to meet building regulations requirements.
We worked closely with the clients to develop the configuration and quality of finish in the kitchen, ensuring a suitably modern and functional end product. Key considerations included the specification of a natural timber finish throughout, including a high-quality timber flooring, seamlessly integrated storage, and careful positioning of windows and rooflights to ensure plenty of light access and perfectly framed views into the garden from the kitchen sink.
Additional development of the layout design enabled to clients to regain some space within their extension, creating a cosy seating area with a woodburning stove and picture window overlooking the garden and woods beyond. Corner sliding doors form a modern feature and focal point of the design, and further enhance the connection to the garden, allowing the dining area to be opened up to the outdoors.
We were also commissioned to complete building regulations drawings for this project, involving the specification of fittings consistent with the contemporary style throughout, alongside a cutting-edge infrared heating system and all the necessary detail to comfortably achieve building regulations approval.
